Helpful Hints

  1. Type of medication is the classification of the medication as it relates to its approved usage by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Many medications have other uses that are considered “off-label.” This means that there many or may not be sufficient scientific evidence for use in these areas but doctors will do so anyway based on their clinical experience.
  2. Conditions are either diseases or symptoms that the medication is often used to treat. The medication may or may not be approved for these conditions.
